In celebration of the Museum's Diamond Anniversary next year, on Saturday evening, August 2, 2014 on the same stage the 2014 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place six days earlier. The live event will feature some of the music industry's top recording artists, as well as celebrities from the world of film, television and baseball, and take place in Cooperstown, New York on the pastoral grounds of the Clark Sports Center. I was contracted to design the VIP ticket page for the talent, celebrities & inductees to preorder their tickets to the National Baseball Hall of Fames 75th Anniversary Concert (pictured here). After several sketches I came up with this icon & type lock-up. Many realestate companies gravitate towards using a physical key or house sillouette. I feel the tree represents the idea of home as well, in addition to; family, growth, and the idea of having a physical outside space/yard. It inspired me to design the Hawaiian taco truck I've always wanted to. I named the company Moku Tacos, moku meaning 'island' in Hawaiian. I went through many design rounds but ultimately was most influenced by vintage travel post cards, the Beach Woody Wagon and woodcut illustrations from vintage surf art. I wanted to recreate the nostalgic script type from old Hawaiian post cards, so the word Moku is completely custom type. And, mimicking much of the woodcut illustrations of the time, the vector illustration of the fish is also original.
